Acappella wedding music11/20/2023 (You can purchase sheet music for this song here.)ĭanke Schön (A Thank You Song) arranged by Lyle Stutzman is a song that Aspire Ensemble used in South Africa as our “thank you song” when people fed us meals or snacks or otherwise accommodated us. Since so many of the people attending our wedding had been to music camp, we invited everyone up around the bridal table to sing this song at our reception. Hopson) is sung every year at the close of Shenandoah Christian Music Camp’s program, and alumni are always invited to join that year’s campers to sing. I’ve dubbed them “The Burkholder Boys” and I think they should go on tour. Ryan, his dad, 4 brothers, and cousin Justin sang “A New Name in Glory” (Miles). People could come up and tell stories about us, give words of blessing and encouragement, or sing! These videos are all from the open mic portion of our reception after everyone was done eating. I’ve embedded all the videos into this blog post for your convenience, but if they don’t play correctly for you for some reason you can access them all in my wedding playlist on YouTube. If you want to see a teensy snippet of the ceremony (which had more beautiful music), you can find that in a vlog by Myron Eby that I shared in THIS POST about setting up house after we got married. There was another song done by the youth from my church, but unfortunately I didn’t get a video of it! I believe the videos were taken by my mom on her cell phone. The photos in this post were taken by Creatively Captured Photography by Abigail and Abigail Faith Photos. I’ve also included some more snapshots from the reception, because y’all seem to like pictures, and what’s a blog post without pictures? If you want to read more of the story behind our wedding, you can read that in last week’s post. After I posted a long post of pictures from our wedding last week (the post was last week the wedding was a year ago), my mom’s first comment was, “You should upload some videos of the singing from your reception!” I thought that was a great idea because the singing was basically my favorite part about the wedding (other than getting married, of course, but honestly I remember the singing more than the ceremony itself □ ) and I think you’ll enjoy it too!
